Transformation Rules

Postby lesteinb on 04 Nov 2005, 16:01

Greetings!

I've noticed that the "transform and copy" action within a content management rule makes multiple copies everytime the document in question is checked out and checked in.

For instance I set up a rule that transforms a MS Word file to HTML and PDF. Every time I checkout the Word file, make some changes and check it back in, it creates new HTML and PDF files, but also leaves the old ones there with the same name. How can I have the transformation replace the old files instead of creating a new ones?

Thanks,

Leroy

Hi,

Yes this is known issue and there is a JIRA task here that relates to this.

It looks like this fix is scheduled for 1.1. I'll update the bug report with this particular use case.

Thanks,
Roy

Hi,

I was wondering if this was also a problem in the "copy item to a specific space" rule? I run an approval rule which moves the file to a pending folder where the file already exists. I would have expected the file to be overwritten but instead creates the exact same file with the same name? I am using 1.1.2

Thanks,

Jason

Hi,

Yes you are correct he problem exists with both the copy and transform rules. I'll update the bug to reflect this.
